Being a good leader means getting your newbies off to a good start!
I would get so excited to get someone new and think...GULP. What do I do now?
Here is what I do right off the bat...
1) CALL THEM and welcome them to the team
2) make sure they have all of the info they need to jumpstart their business
3) get them plugged into company email and any Yahoo groups that they can join
4) send out a welcome email to my existing team to welcome the newest member
5) let them know the days and times I am available....people are more likely to contact you during  specific times or else the feel like they are "bothering" you.

These are just a few of my tips.

Fantastic ideas.  A new recruits most important time for their business is their first 30 days.  Being there for them for just one month will save you much more time in the long run.  PROMISE!

Thanks for the tips,Leadership models help us to understand what makes leaders act the way they do. The ideal is not to lock yourself in to a type of behavior discussed in the model, but to realize that every situation calls for a different approach or behavior to be taken.

Always remember that you succeed, when you help others succeed, which is the beauty of this business.

Be sure you're a sponsor not a recruiter, and there is a difference.  A recruiter signs up lots of people but is gone before the ink is dry.   A sponsor, is there to help, support an train those they bring in.

If you help enough others get what they want you will go along by default.
