I love themed parties. I find that they give me a buzz and saves me getting into a rut.  
 
This time of year offers so many themes that people are already tuned into.  
 
October:      Halloween and Fall parties.  
November:  Thanksgiving and bonfire/fireworks.  
December:  Christmas and other mid winter festivals.  
January:      New Year
 
Get yourself set up for each event and if you can manage to get it to stand alone you will be able to revisit the same groups of people more often.
